The low over Queensland has dumped huge volumes of rain overnight on parts of the State's South East, but only small falls are reaching inland agricultural areas.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, the biggest falls were at Maryborough, which received 108mm, and Bundaberg with 91mm.
Good totals were also received at coastal agricultural centres, with Rockhampton receiving 35mm, Gladstone 30mm, Gympie 29mm, and Nambour 65mm.
But the only notable falls inland were Emerald 5mm, Miles 10mm, and Roma 6mm.
At 6am Saturday the Bureau still had a severe weather warning in place for damaging winds, heavy rain and
dangerous surf for southern Capricornia, Wide Bay and Southeast Coast districts.
It expects patchy rain to continue over the South East region, tending to showers about the coast.
Moderate to heavy falls will continue about the Wide Bay coast later today.
Further inland the forecast is only for showers or drizzle this afternoon.
The Bureau says a new upper level low will develop over western Queensland and move east over the next few days redeveloping the rain situation over the South East region.
But in good news for the drought-parched Darling Downs, rain areas will extend west across southern Qld on Sunday with moderate to heavy falls.
This rain area will sink south on Monday and the surface low will also move south.
