Saleyard Operators Association (SOA) president, Steve Loane, is reassuringly confident about how to take on even the biggest of the challenges facing the industry.
At the SOA annual conference in Kempsey last Thursday and Friday Mr Loane (pictured) stressed the importance of the conference in overcoming not only the issues confronting saleyards as a whole, but also the smaller, centre-specific problems.
"Probably the most important part of the conference is networking. "A lot of unique issues can be solved by talking," he said.
"For example, Gunnedah saleyards have assisted us at Naracoorte (South Australia) with an effluent problem we've had."
