Estimated pool returns for all wheat grades in the AWB 2007/08 national pools are unchanged following the latest fortnightly review.
The 2007/08 EPR for benchmark APW grade for the AWB Number 1 national pool remains at $418 a tonne (free on board and GST exclusive); the Number 2 national pool APW remains at $399/t; and the Number 3 national pool APW remains at $335/t.
AWB general manager of the national pool, David Johnson, said that as the majority of wheat in the 2007/08 national pool has been priced and allocated to international markets, the EPRs should remain fairly stable despite softening in US wheat futures and a depreciation of the Australian dollar.
"International wheat prices remain firm because wheat quality continues to deteriorate in the Ukraine and there is also some concern regarding quality with the Russian wheat harvest," Mr Johnson said.
The next pool update is scheduled for Monday, August 18.
