WITH most of the graingrowing regions of the world expected to produce record tonnages, high prices will not stay around for long.
But with stocks very low, a return to $200 a tonne levels for cereals this season is also unlikely.
South Australian-based Callum Downs analyst, Malcolm Bartholomaeus, says the expectation is for a very large global crop this year.
"We already know there has been a substantial increase in acreage planted right across the world," he says.
