Slight improvement in AWB national pools

15 Sep, 2008 05:48 PM
Estimated Pool Returns for the majority of wheat grades in the AWB 2007/08 Number 1 National Pool have increased by $2 a tonne, while the Number 2 and 3 National Pools remain unchanged following the company's fortnightly review.

AWB says the 2007/08 EPR for benchmark APW grade for the AWB Number 1 National Pool is now at $420/t (free on board, GST exclusive).

The Number 2 National Pool APW remains at $399/t and the Number 3 National Pool APW remains at $335/t.

AWB general manager for the national pool, David Johnson, said AWB had increased the majority of EPRs in the Number 1 National Pool by $2 a tonne as a result of AWB's foreign exchange and wheat futures hedging activities.

"Going forward the EPRs in all 2007/08 National Pools should remain extremely stable as all the pool wheat has been priced and allocated to international markets," Mr Johnson said.
