Several occasional buyers from NSW were back in attendance and helped to create some spirited bidding this week.

Steers over 550kg topped at 191c/kg and averaged 180 (+12) while those in the 400-550kg range topped at 187c/kg and averaged 171 (+12).

Andrew and Fiona Bassingthwaighte, Yarrawonga, Wallumbilla, sold 700kg Santa steers for 179c/kg to return $1254/head. Argyle Pastoral Co, Cleanwater, St George, sold 522kg Brahman cross steers for 185c/kg or $966/head.

David and Lavinia McKenzie, Kyber, Auathella, sold 519kg Droughtmaster steers for 187c/kg or $971/head.

Heifers over 450kg topped at 175c/kg and averaged 155c/kg (+0) while heifers in the 350-450kg range reached 173c/kg and averaged 154c/kg (+15).

The Price family, Moongool, Yuleba sold 492kg Charolais cross heifers for 175c/kg or $861/head.

Trevor and Jenny York, Hyde Park, Wallumbilla, sold 443kg Simmental heifers for 173c/kg or $767/head. Adrian and Margaret Tiller, Siwa, Roma, sold 412kg Brahman cross heifers for 155c/kg or $638/head.

The sale featured a large run of 1000 cows which sold exceptionally well. Cows over 500kg topped at 165c/kg and averaged 142c/kg (+9) while cows in the 400-500kg range topped at 157c/kg and averaged 130c/kg (+10).

The Finch family, South Trafford, Wallumbilla, offloaded 633kg Santa cross cows for 144c/kg or $912/head.

S. Kidman and Co sold a line of 87 Santa cross cows from their Birdsville property, Glengyle Station. The best of the cows sold for 152c/kg at 597kg or $908/head.

The Moody family, Morinda, Wyandra, sold 590kg Simmental cross cows for 145c/kg or $855/head. Peter Emery, Bindi, Wallumbilla, sold 584kg Simmental cross cows for 150c/kg or $877/head.
