New $85,000 cutting horse record

A new record price of $85,000 was set at the National Cutting Horse Association 2008 Select Cutting Horse Sale in Tamworth on Friday.

The top-price was paid by Peter Shakespeare, of Inglewood, Qld, for Spins Miss Kitty, from Bunyarra Park Stud, Delaney Creek, Qld.

The four-year-old mare was by Racketeer Cat and out of a top money-earning cutting mare, One More Spin.

In all 112 lots were sold at an average of $9942.

If the new facility at AELEC, Tamworth was anything to go by then it's little wonder it attracted the horses and buyers it did over this long weekend. This purpose build facility is world class and a very impressive venue for the Faturity and other events. Well done Tamworth.
