Inlon expands hay range with Gallignani

15/04/2008 8:08:00 PM
The hay product range on offer from the NSW-based Inlon operation has been expanded to include Italian-made Gallignani balers.

Inlon’s managing director, Jim Jardim, says Gallignani has been making farm machinery for more than 75 years and is now regarded as Italy’s leading baler manufacturer.

Speaking in southern Victoria, he said the model 5690 ‘Gold’ (pictured) was one of many balers on offer from Gallignani which today supplied product to such famous brand names as Massey Ferguson, Pottinger, Fendt, Fella and McCormick.

Claiming to be the world’s sixth largest baler manufacturer, Gallignani’s product line includes:

• Conventional square balers

• Mixed chamber round balers

• Variable chamber round balers

• Big square balers

Inlon says it will be unveiling a “highly competitive” conventional square bale programme to launch its burgeoning hay equipment range during the 2008 season.

“There is strong demand in Australia for used square balers as small farms seek to find affordable balers for small-scale operations,” Inlon’s Jim Jardim said.

“With the growing strength in the small/lifestyle farm market over recent years, the production of small hay bales for horses and hobby farm feed offers interesting opportunities,” he added.

Inlon says strong feed prices, plus a general awareness to better utilise pasture assets and conserve feed, triggered its interest in handling the Gallignani baler line up.

From a technical standpoint, its conventional square baler models dovetail neatly with lower capacity life-style type tractors sold in Australia, requiring a minimum power requirement between 30kW to 41kW (40 to 55hp), depending on the model.

Delivering up to 100-plus strokes/minute, these balers can be transported on a standard truck.

As well, they fit well with Inlon’s SIP range of mowers and rakes.
