Italian design input aids New Holland T4000 series debut

8/08/2008 12:50:00 PM
The wraps are off the heir to New Holland’s TND-A tractors, revealing the new T4000 series.

Ranging in capacity between 65hp and 97hp, they comprise four models, each available with either a low profile ROPS frame or a suspended, pressurised ‘Blue Cab’.

Built at New Holland’s Jesi plant in Italy, their profiles make them suited to working in confined areas, including dairy sheds or specialised horticulture and viticulture applications.

All models are fitted with four-cylinder engines offering increased power and torque at lower engine speed with, claims New Holland, reduced noise, fuel consumption and service costs.

The new Iveco F5C and New Holland NEF engines are compliant with the Tier 3 standards and compatible with the use of 100 percent biodiesel.

The new F5C turbocharged, four-cylinder, 3.2L engine with intercooler powers the 65hp T4020 and 78hp T4030 models, and reaches rated power at just 2,300rpm, with the benefit of reducing noise. The 600 hour service intervals will lower operating costs.

The 86hp T4040 and 97hp T4050 models are powered by the turbocharged four-cylinder 4.5L NH NEF engine with intercooler. Rated power is reached at 2,300 rpm, and fuel consumption is said to be 8-9 percent lower than that of the previous Tier II engine.

The T4000 is fitted with a new PowerShuttle 16x16 Synchro shift transmission offering a simple economy transmission with wet shuttle clutch pack.

The high specification 44 x 16 Dual Command 0.200m/hr to 40kph transmission with Power Clutch, allowing use of 8-speeds with no need to use the clutch pedal and supercreeper is available as an option.

A PowerShuttle reverser, mounted on the steering-wheel, allows the travel direction to be reversed under load, further increasing the productivity of the T4000 range.

Standard four-wheel drive or the company’s SuperSteer axle is available on all models including the range-topping 97hp T4050 unit.

Meanwhile, New Holland’s range of orchard and vineyard tractors has been upgraded with the release of the new T4000F series which includes a new model offering in the 78hp, to 97hp range.

Superceding its TNF-A Series of tractors, the T4000F will appeal to orchard and vineyard operators.

Comprising three models, each is available with either a low profile pressurised Blue Cab or ROPS platform.

All are fitted with four-cylinder engines and, similarly, are compliant with the Tier III standard and compatible with the use of 100 percent biodiesel.

The new F5C turbocharged, four-cylinder, 3.2L engine with intercooler powers the 78hp T4030F and 88hp T4040F models.

The 97hp T4050F models are powered by the turbocharged four-cylinder 4.5 litre NH NEF engine with intercooler and, likewise, fuel consumption is improved over the previous Tier 3 engine.

The T4000F is fitted with a new PowerShuttle 16x16 Synchro shift transmission offering a straight forward transmission with wet shuttle clutch pack. The PowerShuttle reverser, mounted on the steering-wheel, allows the travel direction to be reversed under load.

The optional high specification 44 x 16 Dual Command, 0.200m/hr to 40kph transmission with PowerShuttle and Power Clutch, allows for eight speeds with no need to use the clutch pedal.

New Holland’s SuperSteer axle is standard on all T4000F models. As well, there’s greater hydraulic power and an increased lift capacity of 2600kg.

The company says the T4000F’s cabs have been restyled to increase both the operator comfort and safety.

With the relocation of the air conditioning system the overall height of the T4000F is 134mm lower.

Restyled, brighter interiors, plus new analogue-digital consoles are said to give users clearer read-out of the engine rpm, pto rpm and forward speed.
