Tempting introductory prices for two new Mahindra tractors demonstrate the company's keeness to capitalise on the successes of its earlier sales.
Both its 4WD newcomers in the shape of the 44kW (59hp) model 6030 and 48kW (65hp) model 7030 have an attractive look about them - especially when factoring in the price of the smaller capacity unit at $28,990 inc GST (ex Brisbane/Perth), or $35,980 inc GST if fitted with a front end loader.
Designed to perform multiple tasks - from secondary tillage to crop protection, mowing, farm services, transport tasks and materials handling – these utility tractors feature a heavy-duty cast iron chassis.
As well, the complete equipment package offers tried and tested engines delivering maximum torque levels to 238Nm (7030 model), easy shift synchromesh transmission with shuttle, plus a ‘clean’ operator platform with side-mounted range and gear shift levers making entry and exit easier.
The standard 8F/8R transmissions come with a left hand synchronised reverser while the foot operated differential lock allows power to be equally transferred to both rear wheels for maximum traction.
Inline planetary front axles with a limited slip differential provide additional pulling power in tough soil conditions, aiding performance in loader and field operations.
As well, there’s a ‘low effort’ dual clutch.
Hydraulics that boast a maximum lift capacity of 1800kg see two remote control valves on the 7030 with one valve supplied on the 6030.
The three-point linkage is described as heavy duty and in the comfort department the deluxe seat has formed cushions, adjustable suspension and armrests.
It offers fore, aft and height adjustment, plus the retractable seat belt is standard.
Mahindra says its ergonomically designed instrument panel is very “operator friendly,” incorporating smartly arranged gauges.
Both newcomers will be offered with Mahindra’s three-year engine and powertrain warranty.
