THE duck-shooting season doesn't begin until March 20 but the war of words has begun.
A new generation of Laurie Levys are protecting their feathered friends, with Clementine Round, 15, and Jack Styles, 13, leading a protest outside State Parliament on Sunday.
The youngsters are waging the war through their Facebook page, the Duck Arm-y, and shooters are returning fire with their propaganda.
Here's what happens: Clementine and Jack delete the comments and block the profiles but the shooters create new personas and it all begins again.
One of the messages says: ''The hunting brigade will become politically active and target the anti-hunting brigade and try and have your way of life invaded.''
Clementine's mother, Helen Round, joined the army and helps monitor the comments.
At Sunday's protest, 300 rubber ducks will line up on the steps of Parliament and if the shooters turn up, there'll be some ducking for cover.
