Wind will be damaging in parts of southeastern Australia during the next few days, damaging enough to bring down trees and possibly powerlines.
According to FarmOnline WeatherZone, of the capital cities, Hobart, Melbourne and Canberra are the most likely to experience some damage.
The strongest winds should be in Tasmania, where tonight and Friday gusts may exceed 130km/h in the most exposed parts of the west and south.
Gusts of 100km/h are a chance in Hobart.
Those in Victoria, southern New South Wales and the ACT will also have to be on guard tonight, and Friday with 100km/h gusts possible.
Winds may reach 90km/h in both Melbourne and Canberra, peaking in the Victorian capital late tonight and in the nation's capital on Friday afternoon.
Adelaide is a lesser chance for damaging winds, but this afternoon the nearby hills cannot be ruled out being hit by 90km/h gusts.
The West Coast of South Australia will bear the brunt of the blow for the state, where 90km/h gusts are more likely.
Sydney residents are unlikely to experience severe winds due to a vigorous cold front weakening on its way east, but it will still be windy from Friday lunchtime to Saturday lunchtime.
