A FORMER horse trainer diagnosed with paraplegia after being crushed by a trapped horse has settled his Supreme Court case against the stables where he worked for $300,000.
Glenn Hancock, 59, was working at the Riverend Park stables in Bangholme, in Melbourne's outer south-east, when he was injured on September 22, 2006.
Mr Hancock, whose role was to break in young horses, claimed Riverend Park was negligent in its duty to provide him with a safe workplace.
Mr Hancock agreed to pay his solicitors $100,000 for preparing his case. He has received a further $455,000 under the Accident Compensation Act.
