CONSTRUCTION of the north south pipe is expected to start later this week and be in full swing in a couple of weeks.
On Saturday, less than 24 hours after Federal Environment minister Peter Garrett gave the project the green light, the State Government’s Sugarloaf Pipeline Alliance was notifying landholders along the proposed route of its intention to enter their properties to begin construction.
Among the conditions of state approval were the submission of an overarching environmental framework for the construction and environmental management plans.
An Alliance spokesman said as the EMPs were signed off, construction would start.
