Victorian rural newspaper, Stock & Land, is living up to its pledge of being 'at the cutting edge' with the launch of a new package for farmers and agribusiness professionals that takes the delivery of rural news and market information to a new level.
The ONECLiCK package will give subscribers access to a full online version of Stock & Land from anywhere in the world using Realview technology.
Subscribers will be able to read it just like they would a newspaper, flicking from page to page, with the benefit of an electronic search to help them find the topics they're interested in fast.
Subscribers will also receive a condensed livestock e-newsletter summarising market trends and upcoming sales for those who just want the nuts and bolts before they head out for the day.
Best of all it won't cost them an extra cent, with ONECLiCK part of a standard subscription package.
Readers can also upgrade to the ONECLiCK Premium package for just $39 extra a year and receive a tailored daily SMS, five days a week, with the latest market and currency indicators relevant to their farm business.
Producers will initially be able to choose from a beef, sheep or a wheat market package.
The beef and sheep SMS will include key indicator prices, updates from that day's sales from reporters on the ground and a guide to sales for the rest of the week.
The wheat SMS will give readers access to the latest prices and, like the beef and sheep SMS, will keep readers up to date with the path of the Aussie dollar.
Subscribers will still get a hard copy of the paper delivered as normal (by post or through the newsagent) that they can throw on the dash of the ute or sit down with at the kitchen table.
While most newspapers are now offering some content online, Stock & Land is the first major rural weekly newspaper in Australia to offer a full online version to subscribers and to team it with a market SMS service.
"When you're in the middle of shearing or sowing, you don't always have time to slip into town to pick up the paper or even get to the mail-box," Stock & Land editor Sally White said.

Current subscribers will receive a letter explaining the changes in the mail in the next week.
