VFF delegates elect water council representatives

26/06/2008 3:40:00 PM
Delegates at this year's Victorian Farmers Federation annual conference have elected regional representatives to the VFF's Water Council, the peak Victorian irrigator representative body.

Membership of the VFF Water Council is only open to members of the VFF.

VFF chief executive officer, Wayne Harvey, welcomed the election results saying that those elected represented a good mix between fresh faces and experience.

"We are proud of the work of our Water Council," Mr Harvey said.

"Over the course of the past year in particular the Water Council has worked hard to protect the interests of Victorian irrigators and has achieved a number of significant results.

"The organisation will continue to support our elected representatives to address outstanding water issues." The Chairmanship of the VFF Water Council will be determined by the VFF Policy Council at their next meeting in August.
