Wild weather for start of July

29 Jun, 2009 08:04 AM
Keep your eyes on a cold front due to slide past the southeast of the country later this week, it looks set to bring wild winds, rain and a change from the unseasonably warm weather earlier in the week.

According to FarmOnline Weather, Monday and Tuesday are set to be up to four degrees above average, but this unusually warm July weather will be pushed out from Wednesday as the cold front surges through.

The mercury may fall below average behind the cold front, with wind chill taking a further toll on the comfort levels.

Gale force winds will assail much of Victoria, Tasmania southeastern SA and the NSW alps, bringing a cooler change and up to 30mm or more over coastal and elevated districts.

This is happy news for the snowfields, with 15cm's or more of snowfall possible from Wednesday into the weekend.

However, care should be taken as very strong winds with the snowfall are expected to create poor visibility and dangerous skiing conditions.
