InterGrain lures top wheat breeder

17 Feb, 2010 10:16 AM
INTERGRAIN has lured back top wheat breeder Dan Mullan to Australia, in what the company has described as a ‘coup’ for wheat breeding within the country.

InterGrain successfully enticed Dr Mullan back to Australia from the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Centre (CIMMYT), where his previous Mexico-based position was as post-doctoral fellow (wheat physiology) in CIMMYT’s Global Wheat Program.

Prior to that, Dr Mullan held a post-doctoral fellow position (crop adaptation) with CSIRO Plant Industry based in the ACT.

Dr Mullan will initially spend time working with a wheat breeding team developing AH, APW and feed varieties for the central and northern WA agricultural regions.
