COMMISSION buyers led the charge at Yea’s monthly store cattle sale on Friday, in a small crowd, light on for local restockers.
The steer and heifer portion reached rates similar to the previous sale to reach $750 twice on the steer portion, on pens of Angus and Charolais, separately, with the Charolais sisters realising the top heifer price at $740.
Cows and calves were “probably the sticking point of the sale”, according to Chris Pollard, Landmark, Yea, fetching about splitting rates, to top at $970.
