Entries up for Ballarat female cattle sale

02 Feb, 2012 09:15 AM
ENTRIES for Ballarat’s annual female cattle sale have escalated dramatically to 4500 head with a large representation of young females to calve through the autumn included.

Landmark auctioneer Xavier Shanahan (0419 971940) who will offer the lion’s share of the joined Angus heifer entries says it will be an outstanding yarding and those wanting breeders, young or otherwise will not go home disappointed.

He says a feature line will be the annual draft of Langi Kal Kal Angus heifers, aged 2.5 years that are APR-registered with Angus Australia.

These were AI’d twice to the Lot one bull from the 2011 Lawson Angus bull sale, Nadal and then paddock mated with Innesdale E47 from June-6 til August-10. Despite their age a portion of these are genuine 2nd calvers.

The yarding will comprised 2800 grown and weaner heifers plus 1700 joined females, cows and calves.
