F1 females prices bounced strongly at Camperdown today on the first of the centre's big two-day sale where Euro-Friesian cross cattle made to $1250.
Two pens achieved the top dollar – Kajn Partnership with a pen of Charolais-Friesian joined heifers and GI Cockerill with a pen of Simmental-Friesian joined heifers.
Agents quoted first-run Hereford-Friesian and Angus-Friesian females $100-$120 dearer than the last big test of the F1 market at Warrnambool last week.
Second run cattle were up to $160 dearer and the sale continued too hold its strengths almost to the last pen with some of the later cattle estimated to sell $200 dearer than their counterparts in Warrnambool.
Top price among the Angus-Friesian females was also set by Kajn Partnership with a pen sold for $1120.
Best money in the Hereford-Friesians was $1160 for 10 heifers from the Sutherland family, Warrion.
Most pens went to vealer producers replacing cull cows around Colac, Camperdown, Geelong, Ballarat, Edenhope and Rochester.
