WHEN presenting livestock for sale “right is right, wrong is wrong and half right is still wrong.”
That’s the view of Kevin Corcoran and Trevor Parker and the 40 staff at Wodonga-based Corcoran Parker.
When you sit with Kevin Corcoran and Trevor Parker you start to gain a picture of how and why they have been successful.
While you learn that “slackness is not tolerated” and “near enough is not good enough” you also learn their company contains a team with a balanced mix of experience and youth, using best agency practice.
Trevor Parker says marketing livestock today is about identifying where opportunities lie and “going that extra yard”.
For example, all suitable cattle consigned to Wodonga for sale through Corcoran Parker are, , mouthed on arrival.
“That allows us to stand up and assure our clients of maximum competition.”
Corcoran Parker remains a very strong supporter of pre-sale weighing because it allows agents to display all available information to potential buyers.
Kevin Corcoran said producers had, for too long, been price takers. Corcoran Parker’s job was to explore all marketing options.
“We have turned that around; we don’t sell cattle, we market them.”
