HEAVY rainfall last week prompted vendors to pull out of Bairnsdale store market last Friday and with just 650 head yarded, prices jumped $20-$30 a head across the board.

Steers rising two-years sold up to $720, with those a few months younger at 20 months sold to $652.

Heifers ranging from 15-18 months sold to $450, with Angus topping the heifer portion at $488 and Hereford heifers fetching a top rate of $455. Cows and calves sold to $748.
