Bruggeman takes Matthew George Young Stockman award

25 Sep, 2009 07:45 PM
South Australian Clare Bruggeman, Mallala, was named the inaugural winner of the Matthew George Young Stockman award at a Victorian State Committee Angus dinner in Melbourne on Thursday night.

The award was set-up in memory Matthew George, Stockyard Hill – a passionate cattle breeder who died in 2007 aged just 21.

The award gives young breeders aged 18 to 25 years a chance to travel overseas to study breeding practices in other countries.

Winners of the Victorian female and bull of the year were also announced at the dinner with both titles secured by Carrington Park Angus, Drouin.
