Crossbred ewes, one-and-a-half years, made $110-$128 a head and one-year-olds sold to $100 at the annual spring Wycheproof sheep sale on Friday.
Prices were $8-$15 a head lower than expected with southern district buyers generally avoiding the sale.
This allowed northern irrigators and a host of Mallee and Wimmera dryland farmers to absorb a lot of the stock.
Merino ewes, unjoined, generally made $50-$81 while older ewes made from $28 and topped at $66 for 2004-drop ewes.
Meanwhile 2007-drop Merino wethers made to $47.50, with 2008-drop wether lambs trading for $20-$30 and $30-39 at the top end.
Crossbred lambs generally made $67 to $72.
