Crossbred ewes to $160 at Naracoorte, SA

14 Nov, 2008 11:30 AM
An evenly balanced sale of one-and-half year-old crossbred ewes at Naracoorte yesterday resulted in the bulk of yarding being cleared at prices of $120 to $150 a head, with handful of speciality pens selling to $160.

Numbers were back to a more manageable level of 18,000 head, rather than the huge 42,000 penned a year ago.

Many sellers on the day were more pleased with this year's outcome, while buyers said their outlay was more in balance with their lamb and cast-for-age ewe receipts of this year.
