Local buyers absent at Bendigo sheep market

06 Nov, 2008 03:20 PM
Local buyers mostly abstained from entering the buyers' ring at the annual first-cross ewe conducted by Elders and Landmark at Bendigo, Vic, on Wednesday.

The severe dry in the north central areas of the State was the main reason preventing local operators from participating in the sale that sold top line drafts of one-and-a-half year-old ewes, spring shorn, to $140 and ewe lambs, also spring shorn, to $100.
