Whopping 46,000 sheep to hit Hay saleyards

12 Sep, 2009 04:00 AM
A MASSIVE yarding of 46,000 is advertised for the opening Riverina store sheep to be held at Hay, NSW, next Friday, September 18.

With the region's spring season in the balance, the large numbers nominated have surprised local agents.

They say producers have decided to lighten off early, in order to conserve valuable fodder.

Most lines are expected to present in very forward condition due to an earlier autumn and mild winter weather in the region.
