DISTINGUSHED landscape gardener Paul Bangay has much to be proud of at Larundel.
Touted as one of his signature properties on the front cover of his book The Defined Garden, this landmark Western District property represents a slice of the Victorian bygone era.
The property, which dates from about the 1870; s was originally commissioned by prominent grazing family, the Austins, and designed by architect Joseph Watts.
In recent years Just Jeans founders the Kimberley family and current owners the Preat family have let none of Larundel’s grandeur fade, employing interior designer John Coote.
Set amongst two hectares of immaculate English garden the 1000 square elegant bluestone and polychrome brick homestead forms the heart of the 1012 hectare property.
Constructed over a single level, everything is on a grand scale; among the rooms are several ornate formal rooms, casual living rooms, and separate self contained guest
quarters with four bedrooms, three bathrooms, library and commercial kitchen and a 30-seat dining area.
